MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY IN CHINA
In July 2004, The Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (MAYCHAM CHINA) had been officially registered in China according to the "Foreign Chamber Management Provisional Regulation of the People's Republic of China" and since then, MAYCHAM has worked closely with the Malaysian Embassy in its efforts to further promote and strengthen the economic relations between both countries. Presently, Malaysia's bilateral relations with China are at its best ever after both countries celebrated its 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2004. Total bilateral trade has surpassed US$ 26 billion in 2004 and Malaysian investments in China is also on an upward trend.

MAYCHAM CHINA is a non-profit organization that organized voluntarily by the Malaysian commercial and industrial institutions and enterprises as well as Malaysian individuals in China and it is also the first Chamber of Commerce and Industry that is officially and legally registered outside of Malaysia.

Mission of the Chamber: “Promoting 1Malaysia, Serving Bilateral Trade”.

Objectives of the Chamber:
l To provide a platform for the expressions of opinions and the exchange of business-related information and other matters among its members and with other institutions, enterprises, relevant bodies or Chinese authorities.
l To promote, develop, advance and expand business between Malaysia and the People's Republic of China and other countries.
l To promote understanding and friendly relationship between its members and the Chinese authorities, institutions, enterprises and other relevant bodies.
l To promote trade, investment and other economic activities between its members and the Chinese enterprises and other commercial institutions in China.
l To advance and promote technological, professional, commercial and technical education and facilitate such exchange with the Chinese institutions, enterprises, business chambers and other relevant bodies sharing similar objectives and interests.
l To collect, compile, extract, circulate and disseminate statistics and other information relating to trade, commerce and industry.
l To print, publish and distribute any newspaper, periodicals, books, or leaflets that The Chamber may think desirable for the promotion of its objectives.
l To facilitate research and discussion by its members on the promotion of bilateral trade and investment between Malaysia and China.
l To provide a channel of communication within such business community with any relevant Chinese authorities or government agencies and to facilitate liaison with, petitions to, or representations by business community to government officials, agencies and department in China on matters which will affect, either directly or indirectly the interest of the members, either in general or in particular to a specific sector.
l To promote and maintain good fellowship and professional excellence between the members and towards their Chinese counterparts and to assist in resolving any dispute among its members or with any other parties, and
l To engage in other lawful activities as may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the foregoing objectives.

MAYCHAM CHINA is undoubtedly an important business organization for Malaysian companies and professionals in China. With its three primary roles of information, network and representation, MAYCHAM CHINA serves as a platform for Malaysian companies and professionals to establish a presence in the huge China market.
